17 Friar Lane Restoration
17 Friar Lane is Grade II listed, and one of the most important Georgian townhouses in the city. However architectural features were showing signs of poor repair and decay.
The project was one of the first grant applications dealt with by the THI. Under ownership of the Council, it was a ‘quick win’ to encourage to other property owners in the area to follow suit with restoration works to their own buildings.
The works included repair of the ornate portico which had become rotten, and restoration of the windows.
The works took place in Spring 2016.
The cost of the works was £51,784.
