Street Improvements
Street improvements to five streets in the Greyfriars conservation area were made as part of the scheme.
New Street, Wycliffe Street and Marble Street have been reconstructed in natural porphyry, creating a high quality route that leads people through the area towards Cathedral gardens.
Friar Lane and Millstone Lane have also been improved, with footpaths reconstructed with high-quality concrete block paving and carriageways resurfaced in asphalt. Footpaths have been widened and new trees planted to create more attractive routes for pedestrians through the historic area.
Awards

In 2019 the New Street scheme was a finalist for the Infrastructure Project of the Year at the Leicestershire Procon Awards.
